Bill Committee advises more flexibility for civil servants’ retirement

The Pyithu Hluttaw Bill Committee has weighed in on ongoing efforts to amend the Civil Service Law, submitting a report to the lower house that recommends lowering the bar for government employees’ retirement.

The proposal would allow civil servants to retire after completing 30 years of service, a change to current legislation requiring employees of the state to be at least 55 years of age before calling it quits.
